Centralparks - meeting on the local sustainable tourism development

Immediately after the meeting on communication 11 experts from 7 countries gathered for the meeting of the Thematic Transnational Task Force on local sustainable tourism development gathered in Czerwienne. The meeting started in the afternoon on 26th June 2019 and continued to the 28th June 2019. This meeting was also organized and moderated by the Polish partner Ekopsychology Society. The meeting, like both previous, was held in a very positive atmosphere. In the introduction to the meeting the Lead Partner EURAC Research presented the Centralparks project and Ekopsychology Society as the leader of the work package WPT1 Integration of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in the Carpathian region presented the participants components of the work package with special focus on local sustainable tourism development. Experts discussed the current situation in sustainable tourism development in Carpathian countries and worldwide. Experts referred to, and illustrated many examples of various best practices applied in the Carpathians and worldwide in previous years and this exchange indicated a solid basis for a constructive cooperation in a common development of the Strategy for local sustainable tourism development based on natural/cultural heritage of the Carpathians. Experts agreed on the framework of their cooperation as well as on the need of closer cooperation with other working groups (biodiversity and communication). Experts set up a timeline and milestones for the implementation of project activities as well as agreed on ways of mutual communication.
